story sketch: teddy's terrific travels [update: 05-09-2012]

the_vulture requested a picture of his travel companion, Teddy visiting South Australia. Here's a picture of Teddy at Rundle Mall in Adelaide, consulting with Truffles the pig about local tourist spots.

OMIGOSH! I forgot about the pig statues. Hee!

Wow, the light effects on Teddy really do give the impression of his fuzziness. I also like that, despite everything else going on in the image, attention is drawn to Teddy. :)
I know you're trying to leave the third pig unfocused, but you may wish to add a detail or two, as, at first, I read it as a wing coming out of the second pig (until I remembered there was three and one in the rear was nosing about in the rubbish bin).
It does look like a winged pig--something dear to my heart since I used to (and may again) make butterfly-winged pigs as juggling toys.

It almost looks like a squashed Tardis in the background there (but a suitable shape for Teddy to have been riding in).

Clearly I'm imagining a fantasy version of this scene! Is that a treasure map too?
On second consideration, it would make more sense just to sharpen some of the details on the second pig so the third doesn't look like part of it. It would also enhance the photographic 'field of focus' effect. :)
oh! That's a third pig, not a wing! I see it now! That makes more sense!!

This is adorable!
I like the little meeting that's going on in the foreground. I've never been to Australia, nor even seen photos of Rundle Mall, so I didn't know they had pig statues there! Pretty amusing. :)
I live in the same country and I didn't know they had pig statues there.
Heh! Then I guess we've both learned something today. ;)
BTW, there's a new photo of Teddy up (hee!): http://the-vulture.livejournal.com/200845.html

Good to see a plush out and about (it's reminding me of the photos that people sent in to Shaenon Garrity of the plush Artie from Narbonic in various places around the world).
I love the plush bear consulting with a bronze pig. Charming!
The pigs do come up a treat, don't they?
*looks closely at map*

I'm glad to see that you really put in effort into the details, including a good map of South Australia.

*looks closer at the 'promotional photos'*

Did you use the photos I posted as the models for those pictures? If so, SWEET!!!
*grin* I did use your photos. I'm very glad you like the detail :)
I'm just glad I actually spotted them! Sorry it took so long for me to notice.
It looks beautiful.
Going back to a question you asked me some time ago, yes, I think maybe a few people in the background might help, if they're well out of focus like the background is (vague people-like shapes).
There are colours! Oh, pretty!
Ooo! I like how you're pushing the perspective with the colouring (though maybe Teddy could be a bit brighter (but then, I'm biased)). :)
He will be! This is just the first round of colouring :)
Okay! :)
Those colours are coming along beautifully! :D
The new layers of colour look very rich.
It's really beginning to take shape! the pig in the foreground does look like he's reading the map.
And while still looking like a statue, too. :D
